Let's face it.
Many of us are "sick and tired of being tired and
sick". Health has become a mystery to many of us, and it
seems to be more and more elusive all the time. This site, and the book on which it is based, (The Estrogen Alternative: A Guide to Natural Hormone Balance, 4th Edition, by Raquel Martin and Judi Gerstung, DC), provides a road map to health that is simple, natural, and effective. Here you will find information that will educate you about natural health options and alternatives to support your body in acheiving optimal health.
Here is a valuable resource for those with imbalances leading to many hormonal challenges. This book covers the benefits of natural progesterone
and the often misunderstood implications of estrogen dominance. It is
of great importance for women (from puberty through post-menopause) and
men too.
In The Estrogen Alternative, we learn how both
progesterone and estrogen are vital to the life and well-being of women
and men, too. These two hormones exist in a delicate balance, and
variations in that balance can have a dramatic effect on one's health. The
amount of these hormones that the body produces from day to day and
month to month can vary depending on a whole host of factors such as
stress, nutrition and exercise (too much or too little). And, contrary
to prevailing opinion, it is actually a decrease in progesterone
production by the ovaries that plays the major role in the many
manifestations of hormone imbalance. This decline occurs any time
ovulation is suppressed - hysterectomy, menopause and even birth
control.

This book is full of
important information on natural health options. There are many facets involved, none
the least is proper and complete nutrition. Without the
phytonutrients, minerals (both micro and macro), vitamins and more, our
body can not function at optimum levels,
leaving room for disease (dis-ease) or
a breakdown in health. Along with adequate nutrition, pH balancing is
critical. Cleansing the body and colon helps to reduce the overly
acidic conditions that are often prevalent. Along
with the physical body, one needs to consider the mental, emotional,
and spiritual components that constitute total health.
Judi Gerstung, DC is a chiropractor, author, speaker, and a consultant at the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She is the co-author, with Raquel Martin, of The Estrogen Alternative: A Guide to Natural Hormone Balance. She became interested in non-drug, non-surgical approaches to healthcare after her mother’s battle with breast cancer and during her first pregnancy. Her investigation eventually lead to her enrollment in the chiropractic program at Life University in Atlanta, GA. In 1989, soon after graduating, she met her future co-author. In their book, the authors describe and document the means by which plant-derived, bio-identical progesterone is utilized by our body to oppose the dangerous and stimulatory effects of excessive environmental, prescribed, and endogenous estrogens.
Dr. Judi brings decades of professional training and education as well as a multitude of case-based experiences to her audiences. Her mission is to increase the public’s awareness of the choices and options available for both hormonal and pH balancing as well as to the critical importance of our daily dietary choices and healthcare habits.
"Dr. Judi's
approach has helped me
understand my own health in a totally new light. She comes
straight from the heart, and is backed by many years of
research."
